How to Reimagine Digital Advertising Following the Cookie’s Demise

Google has taken a significant step towards blocking third-party cookies, demonstrating that its privacy mission is more than just talk. In its most recent policy update, Chrome 80 will no longer support cross-site sharing unless cookies are flagged in accordance with the SameSite internet standard. This move appears to be about online security and clarity. As long as technology vendors and publishers accurately label cookies, tracking and targeted ads can continue to run. However, since semi-restricted cookie sharing is now the default for those who fail to flag, it appears that this will be a significant nail in the cookie coffin.
